Welcome to Maison N°9

map small n09'A few meandering steps from the Market Square will lead you to Maison No9, tucked away in the old part of town. A French Manor House of classical proportions built in the 1790’s by the Marquis de Valady, the house remained as his family home for over 200 years. Still retaining the charm and ambience of a family home, John and Soos now open wide their door to welcome the discerning traveller to stay a while, - enjoy!

An oasis of elegance and calm in an excellent location - ideally placed for exploring the Limousin countryside, but also a mere 35 minutes to Limoges and its airport. Just off the A20 and N145, about halfway up, down or across France.

Relax on the terrace that fills with sunshine and leads out onto the lush, secluded garden and courtyard, which offers secure, private parking for our guests.

What People Say

The Limousin is an area of France to discover.  With the lowest population density, it has lots of fabulous open countryside to explore - an ideal antidote to the stress of urban life. There are numerous beaches on the river Creuse and on the lakes in the region, some busy with bars and restaurants, activities and events, and others more hidden and tranquil!

Hundreds of kilometres of cycling and walking trails including a Pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostela, and some more unusual things to see and do, such as Velorail, Oradour-sur-Glane, The wolf sanctuary, and the Labyrinth at Gueret, add to the more expected Churches and Chateaux, villages and towns to wander round at a relaxed pace.
